A little preparation helps the photographer spend the appointment showing your property clearly. Use this checklist before a Tucson real estate or Airbnb shoot, then share special requests before the appointment.
Before shoot day
- Finish cleaning and decluttering before the photographer arrives.
- Confirm access, parking, gate instructions and who will meet the photographer. Share access details privately when booking.
- Tell us about the features that matter: a courtyard, mountain view, workspace, pool, outdoor dining area or separate guest space.
- Flag rooms or personal items that should not appear. Put away mail, family documents, valuables and anything showing private information.
- Confirm your listing launch date and the delivery window for each service. Photo, video and tour delivery may have different timing.
Living areas and bedrooms
- Clear floors, shelves and tabletops of everyday clutter while keeping the space welcoming.
- Straighten furniture, cushions and rugs. Make beds and smooth bedding.
- Tuck away loose cables, chargers, laundry baskets and pet supplies.
- Clean mirrors and glass. Check what is reflected from likely camera angles.
- Check that light fixtures work. Let the photographer decide how to balance lights and window coverings for the conditions.
Kitchens and bathrooms
- Clean counters, sinks, appliances and visible fixtures.
- Put away dishes, cleaning products, toiletries, toothbrushes and unnecessary countertop items.
- Hide bins where practical. Arrange towels neatly and lower toilet lids.
- Check shiny surfaces for fingerprints and cluttered reflections.
Outdoor areas
- Sweep the entry, patio and walkways. Arrange outdoor seating and remove loose equipment.
- Move vehicles that block the exterior view when practical and permitted.
- Put away hoses, bins, pool cleaning equipment and unrelated personal items.
- Prepare featured amenities as they should look to a visitor. Keep routes clear and tell us about safety or access restrictions.
- For aerial photos, explain property boundaries and features privately before the shoot. Drone capture depends on the location and safe conditions.
Extra preparation for Airbnb and vacation rentals
- Present the property as guests will actually receive it. Avoid showing amenities that are not included or available.
- Prepare each sleeping space, bathroom and shared area consistently.
- Set up the workspace, coffee station, outdoor dining or other real amenities you want included.
- Tell us which details guests ask about most, so we can plan useful coverage.
- Explain separate entrances and shared spaces accurately. Photos should help guests understand the stay, including its layout.
For 3D tours and floor plans
- Prepare the whole route through the property; a tour can show spaces that a few still photos would not.
- Keep doors and pathways accessible and arrange for people and pets to be out of capture areas.
- Confirm which rooms, floors and separate buildings are included.
- Ask which tour platform and floor-plan deliverables are included in your order.
A final walk-through
Walk from the entrance through each room. Look for bins, cables, personal documents, uneven bedding and objects reflected in mirrors. Once the property is ready, avoid moving items between rooms during capture unless the photographer asks.
